Nouval Kemalsyah [0331328] Video Editing & Production Week 2 Lecture: Film Language We started the lecture with the history of filming, and when mr.Martin said the first ever film is a recording of a train, i remember this movie called Hugo and at the end turns out he also use that clip as a reference. But not just that we learned the skill of cinematography, back when i learned a little bit of cinematograph but didnt really dwell into it just the basic stuff like angles,and in this lecture we basically learned that. Every angle has its different uses in scenes like: Extreme Wide Shot (EWS) A broad view of the surroundings of a character. Often used at the beginning as an 'establishing' shot. Nouval Kemalsyah Adhigumilang 0331328 Our lecture today centered around the very basics of traditional 2D animation. We watched a short video called 'Duet', an animated short created by the brains behind 'Tarzan'. In it the animators demonstrated the 12 basic principles of 2D animation. These basic principles are the foundation of 2D animation, and together they help create the illusion that a series of changing drawings and frames really are living breathing movements. The 12 principles are as follows: Squash and stretch gives the illusion of weight and volume of action Anticipation prepares the audience for a major action Staging presentation of an object so it is clear Pose-to-pose and straight-ahead the first consists of a few key drawings set throughout the scene, straight ahead animation starts from the beginning and progresses through time. Nouval Kemalsyah [0331328] Video Editing & Production Week 1 Week 1 Introduction to module and Adobe Premier Pro tutori al We were met by a new lecturer on our first week in semester 2 Mr. Martin Chong. After we went through and discussed about the module, so pretty much in the whole semester were are going to involve projects such as shorts films and all of the aspects of it like cinematography and stuffs like that. So our first project is to make and edited short film from a raw footage that our senior has captured. So simply saying our task were to cut the raw videos and make it into a somewhat more complete version of it. Also the program that were using in this lecture is Adobe Premier pro.
