Usability & Mobile Applications I

For our class assigment in this module we were to make a mobile app prototype. And before we start the app we had to came up with a few ideas and talk it through with the lecturer mine were these one below:

1.(google?)paint: like google docs but instead you can draw doodles together
2. WalkMate: need a friend to walk with? Check people near you who is going the same way with walkmate
3.PetHelp: for those who got a new pet but dunno how take care of it

After talking it with the lecturer we decided the third one would be suitable. I was thinking of making like a community based app something like PetCoach or  Quora. and so the lecturer told us to create flowchart for this app. Also after consultation with the lecturer i had a better name idea called PetVet

basically the more active users the bigger database. i also came up with a logo for it though a few said it looks like a pet burial service.

I also came up with the main wireframes

But after presenting the app the lecturer critize that apps such as quora have problem with the consumer on dont know where to look. And so they give an advice that i should do a different approach and do it somewhat like a fitness/nutrition app and narrow it down to a single animal. And so i did my research and find if theres any pet nutrition app. And i found 2 examples on cat's nutrition, and most of it only have 1-2 pages because mostly they do is just calculate.

i made the flowchart after that although i added few things during the prototypes. After i had a consultation we were to created a working prototype with working buttons this is a video of the working prototype. Also i named it Flyne a wordplay on the word feline, and i also inserted some cat puns just to make it more interesting like "Cat-culate meow!"(calculate now) and Cat-culator(calculator).

heres a screen capt of the app
